There's a lot of value going out for Connor and not enough going out for DeBrincat.

Detroit definitely has the juice to create packages around pick #9 for Connor and pick #17 for Cat….
I think they’d rather use their draft selections though considering the quality in this years first round

I agree However Connor is bettter. But personnally it should be the two players and the first top 10 protected for connor and for debrincat the two players a first and a second

Go listen to Yzerman's Draft presser (again) if you did, because he kind of hinted at moves like this.

Unless DeBrincat is deadset on going back home to Detroit, I would expect other offers to beat that one.

I read somewhere that his agent said he would only sign long term in Dallas and Detroit. So take that for what it's worth I guess because really money talks and if someone is offering alot of money how do you say no?

There's no way Ottawa accepts that package from a divisional rival unless they're absolutely hamstrung by DeBrincat. And if Yzerman can sign him for less than $7 million per, everyone on this thread is chipping in to buy Steve a nice fruit basket of appreciation

Where's the source on this? Sounds like the "Toronto buying out Brodie" talk which makes no sense. LeBrun reported that DeBrincat offered a list of teams to Ottawa he would extend with and then LeBrun SPECULATED about those teams and openly admitted he didn't know the list or number of teams on it. Now I'm seeing uncited claims on every site that Dallas and Detroit are the only two options for DeBrincat. They were two of six options LeBrun speculated about. He never said the only two or even either of them were on there.

Yeah I don't know where I read it, like I said take it for what it's worth. I guess you could just Google it and find it.

I have. The only source is the aforementioned from LeBrun. Which is why I suspect it is 100% fabricated like the Brodie buyout.

Could be, I didn't see the Brodie buyout talks but that would be silly. Many teams would be in on him if they made them mistake of moving him.

Brodie buyout was speculated on Seravelli's podcast. But again, it was only speculation and then people start assuming it is verified. Which happens EVERY OFF SEASON but yet fans still mindlessly fall for it.

I can't see Winnipeg moving KC for a couple mid to late firsts, a rental and an LHD they don't need. There would need to be at least one piece you don't want to lose going to Winnipeg, not just pieces you don't want anymore.
