The added 5th in the Murray trade is not neccessary inevitably.

I do see a chance that the Leafs just get squeezed into a tight cap next year with all 4, then resign Tavares to a lower deal opening up cap for the rest of the roster in 25-26. I don't expect the fan base to accept that year 24-25 roster.

Listening now. He just mentions it around the 8:50 mark about an article Iain Macintyre wrote where he made some off hand remark about the cap being $100M in 3 years. That is just a number he pulled out of his a$$, though. All financial studies and reports predict the cap being around $92.5M in 3 or 4 years. $100M would be an insane jump. But, I get it, those guys say something and usually there is some truth to it. So, I don't blame ya. But these guys are just talking out of their a$$es, in this instance.

I would imagine that a half priced Nylander could bring in a large haul of picks and/or prospects at the TDL. Holding on to TK doesn't help the rebuild either, considering they aren't likely going to be finished the rebuild by the end of this season. At least you get a 1st and 2nd plus whatever Nylander brings.
