So you think a top 15 defenseman in his prime is worth 2 2nds and a single player? You’re crazy if you think that one

Devon Toews is not a top 15 defenseman, especially without a new contract. He would be top 15 if you’re just counting right hand shots, but that’s kind of nitpicking isn’t it? If you were offering Byram or Makar you could ask for that. Obviously neither of them are available. Considering that Buffalo could just sign Scott Mayfield without giving up any assets, or trade less for a cheaper solution, they are probably not selling the farm for one player.

You’re just wrong if you don’t think Toews, a 50+ point elite defensive defensive, is top 15 in the league. He’s also a Left shot not a Right

Oh, then never mind. Buffalo already has a blue line full of left hand shots and really needs to bring in another righty instead. They should not pursue this trade. Of course, the fact remains you’re asking for three NHL players that combined for 107 points this past season, all of which have team control beyond this year, and 2 second round picks (which is the price of the Aves paid to get Toews in the first place) for your 50 point left-handed shooting defenseman who would walk away the following year, or will probably demand a seven or eight year $7 million contract. In so many words, no thanks.
