It's a tough spot for Vancouver. They have made so many bad decisions and I am not sure when you can reasonably get from under it.

I'd have to pass. We need big size. Would have to have retention to even consider that since he would sit on the 3rd line.

Benning with his delightful parting gift of OEL + Garland. Without that move, the Canucks are in a legit spot to be a contender with the extra 12 mil in cap space

The Miller contract is going to be a big problem in the very near future as well. He's going to be declining within a couple seasons at most.

They had to because trading him would start a rebuild in which Hughes Pettersson and Demko would all leave.

I think it would have put you further ahead now. Had you traded him 2 seasons ago, you would have got a major return that would be a year or 2 away from being useful players. Those futures would make Vancouver so good 2 years from now but instead you are likely going to be facing a declining Miller by then
