Per Frank Seravalli today Armstrong "fell in love" with Scott Laughton the player and person at the worlds this year and offered a late first this year and future second for him which Briere turned down. To make the deal happen I added a low end top 10 prospect for the Blues in Robertsson but to offset that value made the second a third in 2025.
whitey9 and smkruzik liked this.

Per Doug Armstrong as of yesterday, nothing had come to the table that the Blues had really liked that they thought met a need for them. They want to add a guy that fits with the core group that they can have for an extended period of time. They aren't interested in adding guys that could only be there for a year or two or that are older.

I'll take the word from the guy's press conference vs. the world from a guy who heard from a guy who heard from a guy.

Yeah, lol, because NHL GM's are always forthcoming and share their plans with the media and fans.

Do you hear yourself right now? And Insiders NEVER speculate, and always ensure the credibility of what they’re told.

You’re taking the word of someone outside of both organizations over the head of the hockey operations of one of the two teams involved.

So it's not ok for me to take the word of one of the most reputable insiders in the league (who tend not to lie and simply report what they are told) but it's ok for you to take the word of GM because he didn't share private trade talks and his offseason plans with the media and fans (which GM's never do)? Yet you are asking me if I hear myself right now.....thanks for the laugh.
