That's a whole lot of faith in Hill. He had a good playoff run but the guy has never played more than 27 games in one season, a starter plays around 50 games person season. I'd try and sign him to a bridge deal to really test him and see if he is a true capable starter. We made the mistake of thinking Cal Petersen was gonna be a good starter once Quick started to fall off and look how that turned out, coincidently signed him to basically the same contract you want to sign Hill too. Goalies are tricky man

For as much as I'd love to see Martinez come home (this one hits very close to home as I used to watch him play back in Honeybake, and we are from the same part of town), I don't think it'll happen anymore, there really isn't any room for him on the roster in DET, unless they don't think Johansson is ready with Edvinsson out for the first few months.
