From who taking penalties? Guys like Hathaway and Deslauriers don't take minor penalties often. Major reason why they can play their role effectively without hurting the team. Adding this toughness to the 4th line, allows them to move on from guys like Watson who don't win fights and isn't as good as either of them. Also, Brady won't have to step up and fight as much or ever now that there are real heavyweights in the lineup who can take care of it and not have to lose our captain for 5mins to some 3rd/4th liners

I like your logic and I agree to an extent. I'm not talking about losing or winning fights because that really doesn't matter in the end. My response is : DJ Smith type deployment. The 4th line shouldn't be playing more than 7-10 minutes a game. If they play limited time and know their role, then I have no problem. Ottawa has lead the league in PIM and HITS the passed 5 years. What does that mean? It means Ottawa doesn't have the puck a lot. Toughness and physical play has never been the problem. Discipline and structure have. I Like Hathaway! I can see him being a good fit. Deslauriers for that much on the 4th line can be utilized a little better. A guy making minimum wage can do it just as effectively and Ottawa doesn't need to give up assets.
