Dallas isn't trading a 1st Round Pick for a $5M, middle-6 winger. They don't have the cap space for it and Garland isn't worth the price here.

Colorado passes on that. If they are going to overpay for a forward, they need a 2C, not another wing. Like, where does Kuzmenko go when Landeskog returns next year?

Why? They are the most desperately in need of a rebuild of any team. This definitely SHOULD be their direction.
