Tippett is a no go. Too much potential and is on a friendly deal for him to be traded for anything but a huge over-payment. Even bigger than two late 1sts and a good prospect. He's only 24 so he does fit the timeline.

You think everyone on the flyers has to be a huge overpayment that’s not how things work but whatever you wanna believe I guess.

It’s not often teams trade a player like Broberg with top 4 potential but clearly u missed him in this deal

I took that as part of the deal for TK. If we rework this to TK for Broberg, a 2024 1st, and a 2023 2nd I can see it considered.

Don't the Oilers also need to improve their defense? Why would they trade a potential top 4 d-man if they're defense is struggling?

No, I think players who are young and locked into term have to be huge overpayments. Players like Cates and Tippett who are viewed as future assets and cornerstones to the rebuild. Players like TK, Laughts, and Hayes are going to be moved.

TK can get a 1st, a 2nd, and a good prospect.

Laughts is highly valued by the organization so they may push for more but likely to get a late 1st.

Hayes needs retention and at best we can get a couple of mid-draft picks.

I see players who are foundational as needing overpays to move, because why move something you view as part of the long-term for something that's just okay?

Oilers are in win now mode that’s why a player like Broberg is available flyers are in rebuild mode that’s why a player like Broberg is worth trading for and yams is only 24 aswell with one year left on his deal so his value really isn’t that bad at all.

PHI should accept this in a less than a heartbeat, and immediately work on flipping the 2024 1st and 2023 2nd into another top 20 pick in this years draft (Moore or Yager, whoever is available).

I'd take the TK deal, I would refuse the Tippett deal. Tippett has shown a lot of potential and is still growing and will be a great foundational piece for the rebuild. By the time the rebuild ends he will be 26/27 or so, which will still be in his prime.
