Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

The idea behind this is to trade for players on teams that need to make cap or roster space which makes their values lower. Also to not trade away future assets, and to do all the buying in free agency, where you sign a bunch of 27 and 28 year old players that can help make the team younger now, and will be tradeable in the latter part of their contracts when the team will definitely be rebuilding.

I want absolutely zero parts of Daniel Vladar, terrible #s and more expensive than DeSmith.

Vladar was a victim of low shot counts and too many high quality chances against, he is significantly better than his numbers suggest.

I understand that might be what it takes to get Compher - but that's a tough contract to swallow.

Desmith is better than Vladar. No reason to waste cap space and assets - even if they are minimal.

Agreed, once he is moved (provided he goes to the right team) I think he is a good bounce back candidate

That's actually a very interesting question. I think Bunting is the better player, but Compher gives you the versatility of being able to play center. And one of Crosby or Malkin are probably due for an injury haha. Tough call. If I had to pick I guess I'd go Bunting.
