    Ik this is very farfetched, but unless this years 1st or Crosby are involved, very little interest there

    Yes, that is very far fetched. Sweeney has no cap space and can't field a full roster so other GMs aren't offering lottery picks or franchise centers.

    Yes im very aware of Bostons cap situation and very aware of the pieces of interest i mentioned

    It was merely to show how little interest a PIT return would be

    What did the last vezina winner who was immediately dumped for cap reasons get as a return ??

    You should be concerned. Dubas just stole Smith from Vegas for a 2024 3rd rounder. Guessing it would be something similar for Ullmark which obviously is way below fair value. Then again, both Smith and Ullmark have NTCs that likely make it impossible to get fair value.

    I think a '23 1st would have to be involved, even if that means getting a third team in the mix.

    To be fair that's the Mickiest Vezina of all time. Played the majority of his games against the '21 Kings, Ducks, Sharks and Coyotes. There was no market for him, he only had 1 year left and was making more.

    Modified NTCs* but yes Ullmark could just list 16 teams in desperate need of a starting goalie and tie Sweeneys hands

    Not really concerned, there are other moves that could be made to create cap space before "dumping" Ullmark for a below value return, its just whether Sweeney does those moves or an Ulmark move

    I think fans underestimate how strategic players are with their NTCs. Smith only had a 10 team restricted list and PIT was probably the only one that could afford him and was interested. Ullmark with a 15 team list can almost make it a complete NMC if he is strategic about it. PIT has also been a highly desirable org. Same as BOS. In fact, no player I'm aware of has blocked a trade to PIT in the Crosby era.
