NJ 2023 Pick

Created by: DevilsFanZack13
Team: 2023-24 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 28, 2023

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Looks like the SJ Sharks used the pick they acquired in the Timo Meier trade to draft Quentin Musty. What are your thoughts on this pick. Just watching him get drafted, I didn't realize this kid was that big. Let me know what you guys think of this pick. I still think right now NJ still is the winner of the trade.

Pretty excited for this pick. He has a ton of upside and pairs nicely with Will Smith.

was hoping for Ritchie or Musty with that pick, so really happy. Hoping y’all make ECF next year so we get another late 1st!

If we win the cup next year, I'd be glad to give you the 2024 1st round pick. smile

Musty at one point last year was considered a top 10 pick in this draft. His numbers stuttered a little but he has size, skill, high IQ and competitiveness. Needs to improve consistency but his ceiling is top line power forward, floor middle six RW. Pretty damn good. Reminds of Lund a bit but is more a passer than a shooter like Lund is.

We can see the future top six taking form already and its pretty damn good. (In 5 years ish)

forget about Smith?!

but yeah, team starting to take form. think RD is our biggest need, don’t see a ton of good options there for pick #36. Akey might be my choice, not sure on the upside with him, though. Really like Sawchyn, Gauthier, and Fisker Mølgaard, would be happy with any of them to start tomorrow. Expect a goaltender (or two) and some dmen later on.

I think my sheer excitement over Smith made him slip my mind…argh

You only have to make the Eastern conference finals to make it a 1st. Regardless I will cheer for NJ for Timo and Jack.

Don’t forget Mukhamadullin! 10 points in 12 AHL games last year. Thornton said he looks like an NHL player already.

I thought I would be upset with Muk but he’s looked very good so far.

Which is interesting. I didn't think he would have this offensive upside. I thought he would be something like a John Marino. Great defensive defenseman who could put up 20-25 points per season. I think you guys will like Mukhamadullin.
