1. Bread makes too much to be 3LW. Put his bald head at 1RW.

2. It’s not 2016 so brass and steps have little to no business in the lineup on a regular basis. Gotta move on from the nostalgia of guys that played well here a long time ago

Panarin plays a game that is very successful in the regular season but not so much in the playoffs. If NYR keep leaning on his 82 game production as an easy ticket to the playoffs, they're going to continue to be disappointed. If he's your tertiary scoring threat, that's a contender. It's time to take the training wheels off.

Ya, he’s a top 5 guy when it comes to scoring. Not sure any team puts a top 20/30/40/50 guy on the 3rd line but maybe it works. He’s been stuck on lines with guys like Strome, Copp, senko and trochek. Maybe playing with Zibby and kreider will be better. They are elite compared to the others. *proper 1C who could use the proper support on his wing and one of the best breakaway and tip in guys in the league. Marner and rantanen are both guys that are similar to bread… doubt they ever see the 3rd line. They are elite linemates

Rantanen is nothing like Panarin lol. The situation with Marner is the same as this one. it locks up Toronto and they would benefit from the same approach, as they are also lacking depth and run out of effective options when their crutches get disabled in the playoffs.

I personally advocate for bread to move to the right to give Lafreniere top 6 minutes. But if they bring someone else in, or he refuses to move to the right, I think it's a better move for the team for them to make it to the playoffs without relying on top line bread because he won't be as impactful in the playoffs.

Rantanen, marner and panarin are all high end play makers. They are all very similar.

I dunno -

This is never going to happen but I would probably do this. Study should immediately be fired if he traded. I h and then paid this return to get him back though…

You wouldn't. Do the value breakdown and the cap picture. This creates more problems than it solves, and it actually does solve one big one.

I looked at it. Cap is fine. Also would need to factor long term, Buch is going to get at least the Thomas/Kyrou contract. This trade would really fill cupboards, give them two good LHD men, and Trocheck and Goodrow combined could do what Buch does…

Yeah, and you're taking two bad, longer contracts that cost more now and later for players we have no use for.

The Blues would have a use for both Goodrow and Trocheck - cmon now. They’re not bad players. Trocheck is actual really good and only 29. Don’t care that he’s signed for 6 more years - that’s the cost of doing business in nhl plus the cap is going to be increasing dramatically soon.

Heh. Do the value breakdown/cap picture. You'll see the light.

All Goodrow and Trocheck would do is block our best prospects, and weigh down the bottom six cap burden for yeeeears.
