Would be amazing if they can get Zucker that cheap. If they dump Petry just to turn around and give Klingberg that contract though I don't think that's a good move. Outside of that looks good to me

If only Zucker signs that cheap. From the sounds of it, he’s interested in staying in Pittsburgh. If not, he gets paid elsewhere with the money he deserves. Miles Wood is the 2nd best option. 4 years for $3.5M sounds reasonable.

It would be great - and it does sound like he would take a discount to stay. Whether it would be that much - who knows.

Wood's decent - I'm not crazy high on him though. I think there would be some better alternatives - especially since you have some extra cap space to work with too

Swap the pick in the Granlund deal to the Pens '24 2nd, add their '25 3rd and the Hawks probably consider it

Bunting would be great, he’s got that Dubas connection. Him and Reilly Smith would switch lines from time to time. Maybe sign him to a 4-6 year deal, and after Smith’s contract expires he can slot in on the 2nd line with Geno

That's kinda funny. Considering what it took to dump Bailey that ain't happening. Granlund is also better than Bailey. With that being said it probably takes a 3rd to dump Granlund according to Davidson.

According to Davidson? Did I miss a press conference? Bailey had one year left on his deal - $5m cap hit, $3.5m actual salary. Granny has two years left. Same cap hit. More than three times the actual salary ($11m). How do you figure Granny takes less to dump? From the Hawks perspective, a cap dump is a cap dump. It's all about the cap hit and the salary. Pens are certainly welcome to shop Granny to other teams. Maybe they'll find a taker for a 3rd. Pretty certain it won't be the Hawks.
