CBJ hold still be stuck with a logjam at D in this scenario, so that isn’t the way they’d like to go. Frankly, I think they’d consider making a run at Toews themselves over this deal.

Now that is an intriguing idea. Bring Toews in to mentor Fantilli as the 3C between Texier and Danforth. He’s also one of the best faceoff takers in the league. He wouldn’t need to play every game, considering his health. I am very interested in this.
