Soucy isn't a first pairing defenseman.

Detroit isn't trading a 20 goal scorer on a very reasonable contract for Jeff Petry. Either keep Petry and his huge cap hit or pay us to take it off your hands.

Please attach this year's first round pick to that Detroit trade to make it fair for us.

Idk. With Hronek gone, Petry fills in that RHD spot that they lack. He’s still somewhat useful, he can still be a serviceable defender in Detroit, especially with their current mediocre defensive core (aside from Chiarot, Seider) Besides, Detroit has a sh*t ton of cap, it doesn’t hurt them at all. And Kubalik is basically used as a 4th liner, they have a plethora of wingers.

1st because they have a ton of cap does not mean they will help any team to get their cap in order for nothing, let alone give up a 20 goal scorer. 2nd Kubalik played mostly on the 2nd and 3rd line and spot started on the top line due to injuries, so the 4th line quote shows you know nothing about Wings and either that or you think Wings fans are dullards, either way NO.

I don't think it is impossible to make a trade involving these two players, but 1 for 1 doesn't do it. You'd need to eat some cap on Petry or add picks etc to take him 100%. As mentioned, Kubalik is not a 4th liner,

Penguins add Yager to this trade, that's how off it is
