Quoting: CapFriendly
Connor Brown has signed a new contract with the Edmonton Oilers.

Bonus structure is simply 10 GP. That’s it.

Not ideal, but Holland was in a very poor negotiating position.

I don’t know much about his injury status, other than that the recovery was estimated at 6 months, which has now passed. Is the thinking that he’s fully recovered, and this is really a $4M contract with the bonus being just an excuse to defer most of his cap hit to the following season, or do they think he might not be able to play 10 games?

If he plays 10 games or more, it’s a $4M contract. The fact that most of it is deferred to next season will help if the cap goes up that much, but it’s still $4M. He’d have to be 100% recovered and back to his old form or better to be worth that much.

Horrible signing, now the Oilers will have to give Brown 3.25 in performance bonuses even though he’s done nothing for them
