Why would Anaheim and Jersey need to include Toronto in a trade?

I don't hate this trade, but the leafs would rather give draft capital then move Steeves. Also we don't need Schmid with Sammy and Woll

Unloading Murray may take more than that... and the Devils would just give the Ducks Vanecek in this kind of trade and not need Toronto.

I also don't think it'll take a first round pick to land Gibson right now... in fact, that might be his only selling point to the Devils... that A) he's cheaper to acquire and B) Hellebuyck's still trying to make 9.5 on a winner

It's more like ANA does a deal with NJD, then turns around and flip Schmid to Toronto. Not truly a 3 way deal.

Woll has 11 NHL games, and any injury to either him or Samsonov could leave the Leafs in trouble. Schmid would be a good 3rd string goalie for you at near league minimum.

You get Steeves, a quality prospect, and Timmins. Anaheim needs to get to the cap floor and offloading Gibson only gets you farther from that. Anaheim needs to take on some bad deals.

Cap floor😂

Dude we have to sign Zegras Terry Drysdale Dostal and BOG along with 2 more NHL defensemen, pay more attention around the league

Your ‘quality prospect’ isn’t making us take Murray and his 8 million owed this year guy

Trading Gibson takes you to $14.5M under the cap. Zegras and Terry should combine for less than $12M, especially if you can get Zegras on a bridge deal. BOG, Drysdale and Dostal are all getting deals at or below $1M. That might get you to the floor. So, you need a goalie and defenceman? Might as well get Murray and Timmins and get a prospect for it instead of overpaying Dumba, who is basically the only UFA Defenceman left.

And Murray isn't owed $8M, he's owed $6M in salary this season. No other team is going to pay you to take their goalie, especially one on a 1-year deal that you can walk away from next season.

Zegras is nearly 8 million and Terry is about 7 coming out to around 15 million — Drysdale Dostal and BOG are going to have a combined 5ish million making that 20ish million for the year making the ‘aNaHeIm CaP fLoOr’ thing even funnier to us

He is owed 8 million actually while his cap hit is lower

You would pay Zegras and Terry the same money the Devils are paying Hughes and Hischier? Good luck with that. At least you'll have a good chance at Celebrini next year.

Idk where ur getting 8M but his salary is 6M and cap hit is just under 4.7M.
