These Dobson trades need to stop. Terrible return for the isles because their blue line falls apart without Noah Dobson on the back end.

Dobson is awful lol. Getting william nylander for a bad defensman that we hope somehow turns it around is not an awful return lol

Unless you think Dobson wears 24, this post makes less than zero sense imo.

We must've been watching different hockey games last year. Mayfield is a high end 3rd pair defensman who kills penalties and he got paid to be that (he didnt have a great season last year, part of that is due to having a bad d partner). Dobson gets top PP minutes and is expected to be a top 4 dman-- he is nothing of that sort- he's a developmental 3rd pair dman who belongs on PP2 playing about 15 minutes a game

Dobson had a 50 point season under Barry ****ing Trotz. He knows how to play, but Lane did his best to minimize the entire d cores effectiveness last season. Aho and Dobson weren’t great together because it limited the amount of time Dobson carried the puck. Romanov couldn’t play with Mayfield because neither player is a high end puck carrier.

It’s just not that complicated. Don’t blame the kids for being put in bad situations. Dobson and Romanov both benefited from new d partners in the playoffs. Meanwhile Aho was phenomenal with mayfield.

If the Isles had run Pelech-Pulock, Romanov-Dobson and Aho-Mayfield all season then this team wouldn’t have needed to splurge on Horvat at the deadline because they wouldn’t have been out of playoff position. And if Barzal isn’t forced to play wing, he probably doesn’t get hurt.

You had me agreeing until the end... Dobson didn't benefit from anything in the playoffs. That was one of if not the worst playoff series performance I have ever witnessed. With that being said I do think Lane was terrible last year and did nobody any favors

He wasn’t good in the playoffs, but I feel like the entire roster suffered from Barzal and Pelech playing injured.
