I really hope we don't rush Korchinski. Give the man another year, we don't want a Boqvist 2.0.
100% agreed. Seems like EVERYONE is anticipating Korchinski making the NHL roster this year. Not knocking you personally
@wadejos123, but it seems like everyone is looking at his point totals and thinking that means he is ready. When, if you watched a lot of him this past season in Seattle, he obviously has a lot to work on defensively, and CHI has zero need to rush him. Even team Canada sheltered him. Going back won't hurt him and we can't send him to the AHL. So, just don't force it, IMO.
I guess we will let him determine that in camp. If it looks like he can protect himself well enough against men and be defensively responsible, then by all means, let him play. But, I doubt that will be the case. We don't need a Barrie, or a Klingberg, or a Karlsson, or another Boqvist, as you said. What we need is a Makar, or a Hughes, or a Fox, or a Theodore, or a Hamilton, or a McAvoy. And if that means being patient, then we need to be patient.
