A better use of the money would be to lock up Sanderson for 8x8 (or thereabouts), and not sign Pesce. He isn't needed, and that is a huge overpay.

The Toffoli signing is another head scratcher. Rather pay Pinto and Greig than a winger with meh playoffs stats on the wrong side of 30. Even if you wanted to get another winger, can probably find cheaper, younger options

Cates was one of the best rookies in the league last year and had Selke votes. Even if he is available (which he isn’t) it would take a lot more than that to part with him because they have no reason to move him.

It would be a crime against humanity to sign Pesce but not play him with Chabot.

Poor Thomas, I love DeMelo and Zub but they are 2nd pairing guys. All his other partners were 3rd pair AT BEST

Also, no rush to trade Forsberg, he has been the best Sens goalie of the last 6 years and Sogaard/Merilainen are both young and not ready (even next year, no rush)

I value Cates a lot more than Laughton. Now that's an asset I'd be ready to pay 1st + 2nd to get

But he's young enough to be part of their rebuild so Flyers should keep him
