I also think the return for him regardless of where he goes is less than people think, but this deal doesn't work. Idc if i'm standing on this hill alone but i'm fairly positive that Petry isn't waiving for SJS.

Yep, it's called leverage. By no means does Grier have to give into it, but if Karlsson likes Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh likes Karlsson then it is what is it is.

I mean we can all speculate, but reality is none of us know where he would/wouldn't waive it to.

but we do? I mean we don't know the official teams but he noted in getting traded to Pittsburgh that it was a team he wanted to play for and that it was close to michigan where his family is and that was his top priority was being close to them.

Pretty easy to use process of elimination to determine which teams are most like on his no trade list lol.

I agree. Both Granny & Petry would have to be moved but, while Granny would be part of the deal for Karlsson, Petry would have to be dealt in a different trade to a different market. I think he’d nix SJ.

Petry needs to go to basically any team in the Metro, the central (most likely excluding AZ and WPG) or Boston, Buffalo, Detroit. Those to me are all the teams not on his NTC if he wants to play as close to Michigan for family reasons.

Theoretically they could keep petry and play him on the third line in a Karlsson deal but they'd need to move Granlund,Rutta,DeSmith and get a third team to eat additional cap.
