Inevitable moves

Team: 2023-24 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 15, 2023
Published: Jul. 15, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
As soon as they know Samsonov’s number, I assume the buyout occurs as well as offloading Brodie. And then adding some value contracts on the market where there may be a fit. Not necessarily Tatar.
Ducks make sense for Brodie, they want to start trying to win as shown with the Killorn signing.
Nylander and Matthews aren’t going anywhere so might as well stop making those hypotheticals. You don’t trade your stars when you’re a competitive team.

Cal Foote is terrible and you put him on the top pairing. Brodie is the teams best defensive defenseman.

TJ is a good D..but you do know there is a cap issue and his 5M is likeliest to be moved to make the numbers work..what would be your alt?

There is a salary cap and they’ll need to try something. Obviously Foote isn’t ideal but hey.

Jarnkrok, timmins, lafferty… literally anything else other than trading the most important player on our blue line. And it’s not even difficult to keep him. You don’t have to sign Tatar.

I would certainly accept that offer as the Anaheim GM, assuming Brodie waives his NTC if it applies to us, but I think that his trade value is higher and I'd be willing to pay it.

IDK
Jarnkrok has a no move, Timmins would need a sweetner to move at that number, and Lafferty is a valuable PK and versatile for cheap..I mean we still need to fill his position and league min is only a few dollars below what he makes (as Timmins )..I dont see how they get away with not moving away from a bigger contract guy...and I am a willy fan..

Timmins’ entire salary can be buried. And by your logic, no team would claim him. Lafferty can be buried and replaced with McMann who’s cheaper and has potential to be a solid player in our bottom six. I just don’t understand why you’re so confused in regards to how we can keep the team’s most important players together. You know how to use this site. It’s not that difficult to do it.

dont confuse eliciting conversation with being confused..theres no need for passive agressive remarks..everyone has an opinion on what could be done, but no one opinions here actulally matters, this is a site for fans to have fun exchanging ideas and debating player value..nothing said or done on this style forum means anything but fun banter.

His latest ACGM has Murray on LTIR as if that’s the best way to use this website: assuming someone is hurt forever.

Brodie is cap efficient. Moving him makes no sense. His value to this team is more than 5 million. Other options include: trading Nylander, trading jarnkrok, trading/waiving Timmins and Lafferty, trading Rielly (not a fan), or better options: not signing Klingberg or the waste of a roster spot Reaves in the first place.

McCann may be the most overrated player in the Leafs organization at this point. Dude is like 27 and was an echler until this past year. Seems like a good dude. But he's depth...

Sorry I meant not fan of trading him. I did not mean not a fan of him.
