You can't make a trade on this site involving Carolina players because they are hand crafted by god himself and will cost every one of your assets to acquire an overrated 2RHD that thrives because of the guys around him. He's not an overrated 2RD... he's a solid 2RD to a stretch 1RD. His analytics and the eye test suggest that he's a very good RHD

He's just like Parayko. Does great when he has a good supporting cast and a good system to help bail him out. Teams will salivate over Pesce just to bring him in, put him in the 1RHD spot, and watch him crumble because he's not used to being THAT guy. He's going to falter when he's not in the Canes system.

And you have Toronto fans trading away a 40g, 80p guy for him? Jesus.

Analytics might infer he's a little bit better than he is but he's still a really good player. The Canes system inflates analytical value but he's still a critical cog in the Hurricanes machine and is a very good 5v5 and PKer

Do you see why his usage is so low? Because it accounts for Quality of Teammates and Quality of Competition. Pesce is bailed out by his system and teammates and doesn't really face the hardest comp because of it. Give him more usage in another system he's going to crumble.

Montreal did it with Chiarot. Dude was incredible when he had Weber as a linemate and played in Ducharme's system until he was mediocre on the panthers and trash on the Wings. GM's love these big DFD's but in reality they suck any time they go elsewhere.
