Leafs are in win mode. Exchanging Pageau doesn't make sense for this year. And really Pageau for 5m X 3 years isn't that enticing for the Leafs.
But appreciate your original thought.

Hawks wouldn't pay for Palmieri but they might take him on for free just like the Taylor Hall trade.
