If you think these are all bad for Toronto I have a bridge to sell you

nylander is the best player in every single one of these trades, ceiling wise as well. Not a good move in any sense

If you’re expecting to get a better player than Nylander ceiling wise, you’re going to be disappointed

The Sabres decline. They have better players than Nylander.

Yes Nylander is the best player, hence why the other team is adding other assets. Also, you aren't getting a player better then Nylander back for him because if a team had a better player then Nylander, they'd just keep the other player instead

never said either but the assets you traded for him are all useless, you guys are severely underrating him , the only trade that wouldnt make tre smash the phone is lindholm but thats still a terrible trade because lindholm is significantly worse than nylander, he scored 42 once due to a juiced on ice shooting %, hasnt hit 30 in any other season. i would rather have nylander any day of the week

You're severely overrating the value a UFA winger has on the market.

Out of these teams? Probably not many tbh. However out of most of the teams that would be willing to pay him the most (ie contenders) probably don't have the cap space to extend him. The only real team I could see being super interested in him (willing to pay a high price) and willing to extend him would be Seattle but even then I can't imagine it would be a ton. I'd imagine a trade for Nylander would probably be something like ~ a protected first, and then either a prospect (probably taken in the first or high second) or a second pair Dman. The market for wingers is just really low in general.

You are out of your mind. Nylander could be your best player currently. Yeah Ovie still scores a tonne but he's old, Willy would help him a great deal.

Totally agree, would love to trade for him. But not for Wilson and Dowd.

Well you can't afford him then, it would cost a lot more than Wilson. Keep does for all I care. But more would need to be added. Big time

Its a shame we can’t afford him when we don’t want him. Here as everywhere else it’s a Leaf fan proposing to trade Nylander for Wilson. Caps fans never propose to trade Wilson for Nylander. You need to face it the Leafs have been doing the same thing long enough and it’s gotten them nowhere. Nylander is a luxury the Leafs can ill afford. There’s only one more chance for the Leafs to try and make it past the Second Round before they have to make changes because of the Salary Cap. The Capitals do not want Nylander so get over it. The Capitals are not trading Wilson and they’re not going to add to Wilson for a soft floater. Maybe this is the year the Leafs have a good Playoff, I mean they only let the one guy who did anything in the Playoffs (Oreilly) go, I’m sure that’s bound to work out for them.

Matthew Tkachuk was a 24 year old 100 point RFA and plays a style of game that has GMs drooling over him. If you do want to use the Tkachuk trade as a comparable, Nylander is less productive Huberdeau, not Tkachuk
