Makes the team more balanced and adaptable. They are still being able to stack 4 great centers or play one on the wing and advance Cizikas to 3C. Dries is a throw in if Islanders want a little more center depth in emergency.

Additional Details:

Garland is good but Vancouver desperately needs a 3C. He isn’t too expensive considering Garland would have been on the 3rd line to begin with. This trade also allows Höglander and Podkolzin more playing time which they desperately need

I don't hate the trade but if I feel like VAN really can't afford to give up a second rounder. If it was a third I personally would do it

Isles would need a real center or center prospect back in a Pageau trade. Maybe Garland and Raty for Pageau? Lol.

Canucks decline. They can't afford to go 4 years without a 2nd round pick. Pageau is not worth much more than Garland. At best it is a 1 for 1. Why are the Canucks adding?

I'd think Pageau blocks a trade to the west, Idk but I suspect he wants to stay in the east to be closer to home.
