Blues decline. We have no more room or need for that player

Couple little details I’d change: RHP probably won’t play a whole lot in the top 6, but he will be an ideal 3LW. Monty is the starter. Highly doubt Barron will be on the first pair. Other than that, looks pretty solid

Do Hoffman & Armia end up poisoning Laval? Will UFAs be scared to sign here based on how we are treating these players (basically ending their careers to make room for bottom 6 players and still end up last in the division)?

I'm not saying I am opposed to burying Hoff and Army, but I have concerns about Hughes reputation amongst veteran players on the Habs and throughout the league.

It's a flat cap so no one wants hoffman or armia this off-season, agent's know it , player's know it.

Montreal have built a good enough prospect pool and i believe a complementary UFA to this team will see it and sign in montreal

P.S. how come only when montreal do this pepole bring up this point ? There's plenty of player's being buried or bought out and yet no one says it'll hurt future UFA signings

Montreal has a more sophisticated and knowledgeable fan base.

It's easy to forget that the NHL is a very small community. There are only 736 roster spots amongst all NHL teams and even if you double that, you are talking about 1400 players, agents, notable prospects, coaches, and GMs and they all talk and share info about what is happening in the league.

I really think certain GMs get reputations. Case in point: Jordan Harris has said he would not have signed with the Habs if Bergevin was the GM, but he signed for Hughes. Because Bergevin had a bad reputation of mistreating young players, not taking care of their development, not creating opportunities for them to excel. Many prospects in the Bergevin era said they did not hear from the Canadiens for over a year after getting drafted.

You also don't know the behind closed doors conversations going on. Do agents council their players not to sign places because they've recently buried players in the past? Do players ignore certain markets because the guy they train with in the offseason was mistreated there?

Not really
Are some people on here ??? sure, thats valid

Around the League ? No
Hoffman is producing at about a 3-3.5m pace overpaid by 1-1.5m
He's a pending UFA and MTL will RS at 50%
Someone will throw a 5th round pick at him at least

Armia will be bought out before buried.
Long term we pay less cap over more time
That said we're on LTIR so often that he'll either end up on it or get playtime cause of it
Im not really worried until after the buyout window closes i believe on the 27th

I'm sure GM's communicate with agent in regards to the player, I'm sure the agent get notified that the ream is looking to move forward from the player and that he's more then welcome to help find him a new home
