Too much protection on the pick. Call it top 5 protected and anything else moves it to Carolina and the Canes definitely do it. Top 12 is way too much.

Better but still not great. The issue with top 12 is its basically then forcing the Canucks to make the playoffs if the Canes are going to get the pick. top 8 makes it better so there is some leeway
