There’s a bunch of contenders that could use a reliable defensive defenceman. Top teams are always looking for defensive depth. Are you new to hockey? A 1st and a prospect is an easy price for Brodie at 50% retained.

Muh huh. And pray tell what return would Toronto get if they retained half?

Dude.. have you even been reading my comments before you decide to troll?

I literally said Toronto would trade him to San Jose in this situation for a 3rd, 4th, and 7th (as proposed in this thread), and they’d be doing so because they aren’t trading him at full value because of their cap situation m. Then San Jose could flip Brodie at 50% retained for a 1st and a prospect.

Good job though bud.

You need to reel it in, tiger. First off, I am not trolling and crying troll to anyone who challenges your trades is pathetic. Secondly, you are in no position to cast about as if other people have reading comprehension issues. I specifically asked what Toronto could get if they retained half.

Look, it's clear you have no answers for your logic, which has little logic. As for all these contenders dying to paying a 1st+ for UFA Brodie, there's only a few contenders who have the cap space and a couple of those already have set D stables.

& as I literally said now 3 times.. Toronto isn’t in a position to deal Brodie at full value (which would include half retained) because of their cap. I guess you really can’t read.

It’s not crying about trolling when I’ve had to say the same thing 3 times.

Take care bud.

WTF are you babbling about? How is Toronto not in a position to SHED CAP for futures? How does that even work? Do you even know?

Dear god. Learn to read kid.. seriously. Toronto is already over the cap. In what world would trading Brodie at $2.5M help that? They’d move him with no retention for the 3 picks as originally stated.

Go back to English class. I’m done with this stupid debate.

You've got problems, kid. Good luck with all that.
