According to Friedge there’s an injury concern holding up a trade, could be an LTIR situation

Glad you posted this ......so the Leafs buyout Murray and will be just 2.7m over the cap....that a workable 22 man roster.
Don't like to buyout Brodie but it might be necessary...no cap penalty this year, so the Leafs are in surplus of 2.3m but have to find another NHL Dman.

True, but the arbitration for Samsonov gives Leafs time to decide on the roster or buyout

No, Brodie can't be traded easily. Virtually all teams on his trade list are at the cap. What teams on his trade list can take on his 5m cap?

His base salary is another issue too. 7.5 mil due this year when he'll probably need to be managed carefully usage wise.

No one wants term with the anticipation of the cap going up significantly next season look at the domi/klinjberg/burtuzzi deals
