Canes decline. Maybe if you drop the 2nd going back to Toronto, but Jarnkork at this point is a cap dump because the Leafs know they can't keep him

changed it to just a 3rd for jarnkrok straight up, think that would be good value for carolina. good player on a good deal but might end up being the salary cap sacrifice

Canes still pass. Toronto HAVE to move him, there's no leverage for that kind of return,

we don't really have to move him, could dump lafferty and waive timmins instead or move brodie for someone cheaper. leafs are a lot more flexible than people assume. i also think you're overestimating the difference in value between a 3rd and a 4th its suuuuuper negligible. if the canes don't need jarnkrok fair enough but some other team would 100% pay that for him

Nah, I wouldn't move much more than a 5th for someone the Leafs know they have to move if they want to operate with more than a 20 man roster

well if you read my comment you'd understand we don't need to move him for the reasons i outlined, he's just the most likely move. and as i said if carolina don't need jarnkrok someone else is definitely taking him for a 3rd so it really doesn't matter where he ends up. it's also a totally inconsequential trade for this roster, i want to hear isles fans opinions the jarnkrok trade is totally irrelevant and i'm not really interested in a 20 comment argument over the value of a 3rd vs the value of a 5th so take care

No one is going to pay a 3rd for him. Look.

He's got a modified no trade. That means only 21 teams can take him. The team would also need to have the cap to take him, let's drop another 5. List is down to 16. It would need to be a team that would have a need or a want for Jarnkrok. Let's drop 10, say 6. Those teams are going to have to have a reason to go for him. Like, chicago aren't going to be giving up picks. Drop another... what 3 or 4? So 2 teams may be willing to take him on, have a reason for it and the room to do it. All will recognize the cap issue the Leafs have, you're not going to get anything of value.

If you don't realize that 3rds are a LOT more valuable than 5ths, you need to go and read some previous draft classes. There's a reason players go for 3rds at the deadline and not 5ths. Picks 20ish -90ish are very similar, but there's a statistical drop off after round 3.

you realize someone gave up a 2nd, 3rd, and 7th for him as a rental last season yes? and you now want me to believe his value is a 5th after he had a 20g, 40pt career year and is locked up to term at a great number? makes sense

You realize the same idiot that gave up that package for him is going to be the one dumping him...? Plus, Toronto have 0 leverage. They cannot operate a 20-man roster successfully.

Honestly, just ignore him. He makes a valid point every now and then, but he is basically the troll of this fanbase.

As for Järnkrok, he is the most likely to be moved due to cap complications, so his value is already a bit lower. Personally, I would be willing to move a 2nd for him if it wasn’t for the cap circumstances, since he is kind of like a budget Niederreiter. That being said, I would love to add Järnkrok, but most I would be willing to do, taking into account Toronto’s cap situation, would be either 2 4ths or a 4th and a 5th. That way, Toronto gets 2 cracks at a mid round steal whilst clearing cap space, and the Canes don’t give up too much to help Toronto.
