trading a 27 year old, 40 goal scoring, centre, with a 5m cap hit is unwise.

I don't like it for either side. Seattle should want to keep McCann, and San Jose should want futures

That's going to be a no from Seattle's point of view. McCann is the Kraken's leading scorer and coming off a season where he potted 40 goals, all while in his prime and at a cap hit of just $5M. He's an integral piece of the Kraken lineup and is more valuable than Karlsson right now. Trading him along with a first round pick and more for Karlsson would be unwise for Seattle, and wouldn't be a move they'd even consider.
