Why would this interest the flyers? - because they're removing McDonald's contract? Either way, this is a way overpayment of assets to remove someone who we can live with for the next 3 years. We all want him gone based on his value/contract, but the biggest problem is that he is inserted on our top D-line with Provy... If he was a 5-6th D-men, you would hear less complaining about his impact on this ice and fans could live with that contract since the Flyers are actually in great position when it comes to cap space.

Player Comparison:
Simmonds > JVR
Sanheim (potential) > Gardiner
Myers > Kapanen
McDonald = Bracco.... because honestly, who cares at this point

Not realistic trade and the value is way off..

Any roster that has Dan Girardi on it is a no. He's worse than MacDonald. As for the trade the comment above hit the nail on the head. Simmonds is better than JVR, Gardiner is basically what Ghost is / we hope he'll be, and the combined value of Sanheim and Myers is far higher than Kapanen and Bracco. It doesn't help the Flyers improve anywhere except moving a contract we're perfectly comfortable with currently.

That trade is god awful for the Flyers. Sanheim and Myers are our top 2 defense prospects and are going nowhere. It wouldn't shock me if they both end up being better than Gardiner. I also don't want JVR back, he doesn't bring nearly as much as Simmonds does to the team. He's a wimp compared to Simmonds. And finally Girardi is just as bad as MacDonald. I want no part of him.
