Description
This puts the team very tight on the cap numbers, but adds incredible depth for the cup window. I think the Avs like Meyers and want to keep developing his game, but to have the best chance at another cup a more established player would better suit them now.

Jarnkrok is great value at 2.1m. But that's why the Leafs need him. Trading Jarnkrok doesn't help the Leafs cap. Decisions to made on Murray and Brodie have to made which really affect the Leafs cap

Moving Jarnkrok may end up being a reality, but I think TOR can get better value that a 4th round pick two years from now.

This is something I feel the leafs may need to do to add cap space, which would be sad as I love Jarnkrok and he is an amazing deal

If it's 2025 it's probably gotta be 3rd rounder. I could see a 2024 4th rounder getting it done, though. Jarnkrok is probably the only player y'all can dangle that might get some market competition going. Good player on a cap hit that teams can still take on right now.

I think jarnkrok is the odd man out but the leafs can get a late second / early third

That depends on whether or not there's an competition for Jarnkrok. If i'm any NHL GM, the most I'm offering on the first call is a 5th. Everyone knows Toronto needs to dump cap, so unless there's a huge bidding war for his services they are going to get low-balled on any trade they make.

I don't see the need for Jarnkrok. His contract is really attractive, but his best production has been when he played alongside elite talent. He's not talented enough to open up a top 6 role for him on our roster, and beyond this season the Avs are planning to fill 3RW with Kovalenko who will be younger and cheaper. The better option is to save the draft picks and fill that spot with a UFA RW/C on a 1 year deal or give Foudy some runway to develop at the NHL level until Kovalenko can come over in March/April.
