There is no chance toronto would ever make this offer, Point per game player, shown to be decent in the playoffs for an aging injury prone dman who you might get one more decent year. Only way this works is if toronto is certain they wont get willy back but they are still giving up to much because i dont even think that willy would stay in san jose either

Yeah, I think the Sharks are finding out that Karlsson's trade value isn't what they thought, but at the same time it won't ever be higher so now is the time to trade him. I don't think Toronto will give up that many assets for Karlsson unless there's 50+ percent retained, or if they're over the cap during training camp and they need to make a desperate trade.
