Well as long as Murray STAYS on LTIR he doesn't help/or hut the Leafs cap. That's quite a premium to pay for one year of Lindholm but appreciate the "going for it"

Leafs decline, they don’t need to trade jarnkrok to be cap compliant

Canes aren’t paying that for a year of Lindholm and we sure aren’t extending him for 8 x 8.5

His big thing is remaining competitive and he doesn't know if that happens with calgary but the canes can use him to win a cup

That does seem a bit heavy on a package for Lindholm with no agreement in place but we can quibble on that later. Might be Caniac555 has a man crush on Lind'y. I would love a crack at getting him on our roster if it would fit long term.

The leafs are currently still 2m over their LTIR cap overage usage. The calculations on the ACGM are not right when using LTIR. They assume 100% utilization of the cap hit of the LTIR player, which is not the way it’s done IRL.

The Leafs will have to do some additional cap gymnastics to be ready for the season. There is plenty of time still obviously but it is not an accurate assumption that Murray LTIR fixed anything or doesn’t matter.

I am a self-described Lindy fan boy. The fit for the Canes couldn’t be more perfect. I feel like if we got him back with this team and Rod, there isn’t a reason an extension could be figured out.

If the extension was $8.5m, we certainly should

For Lindholm? Nah. Especially at his age

I'm not sure how much term I would give Lindholm. He will be 30 shortly after his next contract starts. 8 is too much. We'd have to get some sweet cap hit numbers.

What are your thoughts on Pesce? He is almost exactly the same age as Lindholm…

TOR may still have some work to do to become cap compliant, but that doesn't mean giving serviceable players away for "FC". I'm sure a reasonable deal can be had here.

Same. I wouldn't give him that much term. The local rumor was that the FO was offering good money but very short term. I don't disagree. Now I would feel better about a little more term for Lindholm than I would Pesce. I think he ages a bit better. But I cannot see Canes offering either one generous term.
