If Caps are out of the playoffs and they think they could instantly flip Faska (they don't need him) I could see them doing this at the deadline.

Yeah, I included Faksa purely for cap space to make the money work on the Dallas side, which is why the extra picks.

I'd rather Nill keep that first unless they are getting a huge upgrade on the right side like Pesce, not TVR who doesn't improve the D enough. For the Stars to have a D-core that won't be dependent on the offence and Oetter bailing them out, Harley and Nil need to become solid top-4 defenseman and push Suter down to the bottom line. Harley - Heiskanen, Lindell - Lundkvist has potential to be a solid top 4. While Nill is still their GM, we want him making as many picks as possible

Do not like this trade from the Stars perspective one bit. You're trading for a RD that AT BEST is a 3rd pair RD and you're forcing him on to the top pair with Heiskanen. TVR is not a 20:00 a night kind of defenseman, and you're now thrusting him into a role where he's going to have to play 25+ minutes a night every night.

You're also giving up yet another 1st Round Pick in order to facilitate all of this. If you want Faksa off the roster that badly, buy him out next offseason and keep the 1st Round Pick. Faksa is a really cheap buyout next offseason. Trevor van Riemsdyk is not going to be the missing piece to the Stars winning the Stanley Cup.
