I cant see the ducks being keen on taking 35% of karlssons deal. They should realistically be good in a couple years, do not want that on the books

This deal is too tough. Ducks won't do it. Cap dumps to them in EK, Granlund and Rutta for very little return. I can't really see any third party retaining on EK for less than a 1st round pick because it would be for four years. Even retaining $1M = $4M. Also Petry won't waive to go to SJ (or probably Anahiem) because his family is in Michigan.

You think a thank you for retaining on Karlsson is Granlund and Rutta?!

Karlsson retained for 4 years will be a 1st and a good prospect
Granlund dump will cost a 1st
Rutta is worthless to us

You really should take 5 seconds to try and think of one reason the Ducks do this

There is 0 upside to this for them. You have no clue how valuable cap space and retention slots are, put a fraction of the time you've put into making this same trade multiple times into doing the tiniest bit of research
