Description

Trade with ANA:
One I’ve posted multiple times as it could be a good fit for both teams. VAN adds a guy that can be a solid 3C and sheds some cap space, while ANA gets the better, younger player. Myers fills a role for them for only $1m in real salary for the season.

This allows for some FA signings:
Dumba is still looking for a home and I’d be fine giving him a larger AAV as long as it’s a 1 year deal.
Poolparty is zero risk at 1 year to see if he can be an effective bottom six winger.
Motte is already that guy and a known quantity to the team.
Jones put up solid defensive metrics on a bad CHI team and is worth a 2 year gamble IMO.

This gives the team a legit 4 line/3 pairing roster and makes the prospects have to earn a spot over a veteran if they want it.

Yeah I'd take that trade. getting rid of those last two years of Strome makes it easier for the Ducks to re-sign the young guys.

Benning would propose this trade, Allvin should not IMO, it's a short sighted trade.

Boeser is younger, and has less term on his contract. and ideally should bounce back this year.
Plus Blueger was just signed for 3C and is MUCH cheaper than Strome.
Myers and Dumba are equal IMO both struggle and are not getting better.
would love to see Motte back in VAN though!

Strome is literally one of the worst contracts in the league why would the Canucks trade for it?
