    Why are they too expensive? Only if Oilers or any other team wants to overpay them. Hawks have over 20m in two guys and win Cups. Flyers spend 16.5m on two players and still miss the playoffs. Pens spend over 18m on their two top players and still have money for other stars. Really shouldn't be an issue.

    Ok then what happens when Seguin makes the same amount as Draisaitl when he is a UFA. Oilers aren't trading McDavid or Draisaitl and they can easily get better players for McDavid.

    Toews and Kane contracts didn't kick in until their 3rd Cup win. They have been 1 and done the last 2 seasons and living in a perpetual cap hell. They were a combined $13m for their last 2 Cup seasons. Their first Cup (09-10) Both of them were on ELC's.
