An extremely weak offer when the Sharks are retaining $18,000,000 on Karlsson. Pretty sure San Jose passes.

And Petry isn't waiving for one of the worst teams in hockey. Plus i doubt he'd waive for the west with their grueling travel schedule.

think CHI do that but dont see petry waiving and for PITT going to need that 1st, if want cap space eat it and buy out.

PITT roster is crazy old - F's (opening Day) 36,37,29,31,31,30,32,38,34,31,30 D 35,36,27,28,33,24,33 G 28,32 - only one guy under 28 and 5 over 35
better keep those picks

Very weak offer to SJ. Considering the retention and the fact that EK just won his 3rd Norris you'll need way more than that package.

EK is probably staying put until next summer. It’s too much money and term.

I think he’s staying in SJ this season and the trade will come next summer.

You may be right, the market is drying up and it may be better next offseason. Can you imagine if he wins another Norris? The price would skyrocket

He said he doesn’t want to return and Sj screwed themselves waiting this long. No one is gonna give them a big package and it’ll be the same next summer either way. He’s gonna get an underwhelming offer no matter what.

Then why trade him now? If they aren’t getting what they want then they keep him. They have the leverage.

They absolutely don’t considering Karlsson said he doesn’t want to return to SJ this season. If anyone has leverage it’s Karlsson
