The word on Grushnikov is he's less than 50% chance of being an NHL player. I honestly know nothing about him and I'm a Stars season ticket holder so doesn't sound like they had any high hopes for him. At the end of the day I think Calgary was going to get a 2nd for Tanev and they might get a 3rd as well if the Stars get to the final which they have a chance to do so not a bad deal for Calgary

That would be great but the problem is we haven't a lot of draft picks so not sure we can afford to make a bigger splash. Would be nice though

I don't listen to Dreiger, over the years it seems it's more of his opinion than insider info

Boom 💥 I was right. Tanev fetched a 2nd + Conroy’s Top Prospect Grushnikov + a potential 3rd and they didn’t accept TOR’s crappy 1st. Thanks for recognizing that!</div></div>
Yep, you were right, Calgary got a 1st round pick from Dallas

So much for getting a 1st rounder for Tanev.
I didn’t say both. I said better offer that includes a Top Prospect. Flames would much rather acquire a Young Centre or Defensemen and/or a Top A/B+ Prospect than a Late 1st Round Pick = Lottery Ticket
Hanifin is the Best Defensemen available at this season’s trade deadline, but Tanev is the one in most demand, so we’ll just be patient and wait till we get the very best offer</div></div>

Tanev not worth a 1st. A 2nd seems about right but the Leafs don't have one. If Leafs give up a first there needs to be more coming back than Tanev.
Pacioretty is not worth considering, especially giving up Robertson who would be the better choice as he's just finding his groove as Pacioretty is doing his best just to stay healthy, he's pretty much done.

Appreciate your comment but Ruuta will not require a 1st. No one in the league would give a 1st for Ruuta. He's not worth much more than a 3rd and I doubt there's a lineup for him even at that price

Good points although like the saying goes "you can never have enough defensemen" and this year we prove that to be true.
If we had that lineup on D we'd be a better team. It was mostly D that I was focusing on

Hockeys Hardest Rebuild 24-25
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsFan61</b></div><div>Faksa and Marchment are not valuable, so that’s over 7 million in dead money that’s going out the door. Hertl is valuable and is certainly worth a 1st. What else they’d get is up for debate and it may very well be lower than what I proposed but he would be worth a 1st easily. Karlsson even got a 1st with a long injury history and a bad contract. Hertl’s contract isn’t so bad given it’s long term with a rising cap coming.</div></div>
Faksa is one of our better defensive forwards for the Stars and Marchment brings some sandpaper to the lineup which Hertl does not. I'm not saying Hertl is not a decent player I just think you have over valued him and if anyone is going to give up a 1st round pick for him I don't see it being Dallas.

Can't see that Dallas gives up that for Hertl. I think Hertl's value is lower. You can start with taking way the 1st round pick

Not a bad asset for a 5th round pick. He's still young and could develop into a top 4 given more games.
If it's not Chicago I'm sure someone would fork out a 5th round pick for that asset

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xspyrit</b></div><div>Hard to say with Dorion as he is a huge time ticking bomb...
But my choice would be trade Kubalik now.
They could also send Rourke Chartier down (save 0.775 AAV) and Joseph down to start the season (and save 1.15 AAV doing so), then they could sign Pinto to a 1 year 1.8 AAV and even have some cap space left
Just made an ACGM regarding this :

Good points.
Looks like today the Sens are saying that Norris will be out so that frees up a lot of cap space although at some point you want him in the lineup so they'll buy some time and make a plan

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sabres89</b></div><div>I can see the Sabres doing a protected first for hellebuyck as a rental, but an extension isn't happening. I can see like a 4-5 year extension, but he wouldn't be signing anything like that until he had a chance to hit the market, which still means we would be getting him as a rental. Prices are lower.</div></div>
With the lack of Goalies available I get the feeling the Jets will get a good haul for the former Vezina winner. I think you're right about the rental part. If he were the last piece to win a cup it'd be worth it for one season but not sure they're there yet. Probably best to start the season with what they have and see what happens but I do like the Gibson possibility as I think he has the tools and just needs the team in front of him. Maybe they can get him for 2 second round picks instead of a first

I'm sure it will take more than a first for Hellebuyck plus it's rumored he wants an extension in the $9M+ range. It may be worth it but the price will be a lot more than Gibson.
