Arizona would accept that. Buffalo shouldn’t offer it.

Too much from Buffalo

Quinn and a first should come out of this and prospect should be moved in. Quinn himself could easily be as good as keller this year and is still on an elc. Kellers great but replacing quinn with him is not helping the team its just jumping into future cap issues sooner.
If keller was a selke candidate or face off specialist then there might be a point but sabres dont need more scoring.
I think the value of Keller will fluctuate from different people. It’s either going to be too much or not enough.
But I think Kelley will get a similar return to Jack Eichel, and probably more because in this case, he’s heathy, and cheaper cap hit. He will probably get that three to four first round pick valuation in assets.
As for the replacing Quinn with Keller point, the reason why Buffalo does it is because while Scoring is not an issue, Keller is an estabalished superstar in the league now, and if you’re putting him with Tage Thompson and the young group we have, it would be a nightmare to defend. It makes a potent offense even more dominant. And his cap hit actually would fit in easily, because 7 million for what he does is a massive bargain, and will be when the cap goes up, and if Quinn does end up being that good, he will get paid either way.
I included Quinn, because he has a good relationship with Andre Tourigny, while Keller has played for Don Granato. He played for Tourigny in Ottawa for 3 years and I think Arizona would want him regardless as the young roster player component, Alex Tuch in the deal, and yes we do know how Tuch panned out. But at the end of the day, the trade worked out for both sides, and for Buffalo, it’s that home run move to put the team over.
I really couldn’t find anyone else to put in the trade would make sense and work. It’s ironically so interesting that Quinn is hurt right now, just like Tuch was.
If I took Quinn and a first and inserted a prospect, I would likely have to include Savoie or Benson, or Kulich, because Arizona is going to want a premium A prospect for Keller that’s equal to a first rounder, along with another, and they are justified to do so, and I did not want to do that. Quinn was just the perfect piece to insert for a variety of reasons.
