Overpay. That would not be good for the Bruins.

Not even close to an overpay for a former 1st round stud who is now NHL ready

Awww he's retaliating. That's adorable! I'd focus on trying to keep the Flames above .250 if I were you!

Why would Minnesota do this? Rossi has a chance to be a game breaker. You're trading a bunch of play pieces that essentially don't have that chance... Minnesota needs high end C's. It's the big lack in their organization. Trading someone with the potential for it, for guys without that potential seems sillu

He had the chance to be a "game breaker" ages ago. Getting covid really messed up his development and he's more of a reclamation project. So far, he's shown nothing noteworthy at the NHL level.

You're right in that Minnesota is gonna opt to keep him but this package is brutal for the Bruins. Rossi is now a "what if"

I can understand all sides of the argument so far.

The kid seems to be a PPG player in the AHL, and projections seem to have him at around 2C. He hasn't made it work in the NHL yet (although I'm not sure how he was deployed). If the Wild have concerns at C, particularly with their cap situation, then they won't move on from a potential future 2C who is still cost controlled.

And if the Bruins were to try to trade for him, then it seems like Lysell, who to me seems like a 2RW, would probably need picks attached to make it worth considering. Throwing in Zboril and Regula don't really seem to help with anything, so lets just take them out. A second and third rounder, considering how few picks the Bruins have, seem like a lot given their situation for someone who may still flame out.

I think there will be less risky moves for the Bruins to make to improve their C situation later.
