24-25 Boston UFA market 1st try

Description
Just speculating on the 24-25 UFA market. The cap is Increasing by a good chunk and their are notable UFAs on the Market. A lot of space is freeing up on the bruins roster which puts them in a good position to capitalize on this scenario.

Bruins most notably need to shore up 1C and potentially a weakness on the left D side. any recommendations on UFAs that fit this description that would likely be interested in testing the waters of Free agency or would make sense for Boston to somehow trade for with Ullmark as a piece of the trade are welcome.

Assuming Grzelcyk and/or Forbort are not in the lineup because of price outs or trades (with grz notably with Boston's perceived postition on "getting bigger" on the blue line) and sadly assuming players like lucic, and shattenkirk arent resigning (more likely signing somewhere else or hanging up skates). If they play well this upcoming season and want to resign in boston for similar contracts I would gladly re-welcome them but I don't want to prevent AHL players who have earned a chance at experience a slot in the lineup.
This lineup is also making the assumption that Jake DeBrusk puts up a good season notably without Bergeron in 23-24 worth the paycheck and contract length below.
I am not making any assumptions on Bruins prospects other than defense, Lohrei has shown alot of promise for the upcoming season and I expect someone on RD to make a step up wither zboril makes a splash or Ian Mitchel, Alec Regula, or Reiley Walsh steps up. For forwards there are too many questions and no one can predict who makes an impact on the lineup until the end of the upcoming season. So just assume they are still in the AHL until otherwise.
Finally the last major decision being made by this below lineup is that Boston is going to pay Swayman 1a goaltending money and will move Ullmark the second they can get a reasonable return. Ullmark is going in to the last year of his contract at this point and as much as I appreciate goalie hugs it doesn't make sense for Boston to pay 10+ mil on a goalie tandem.

Please make recommendations on tweaks to contract length and $.

Make recommendations of places you think Boston could move Ullmark and allow for those teams fans to laugh at the trade.
(remember his NTC likely includes teams like Calgary and Winnapeg)

Allow for speculation that lots of UFA players will make it to market because of the cap increase.

This is a blind go and I will repost this with variants based on reasonable suggestions. Trying to make this a more constructive fun post as apposed to a sh**post (although everyone loves a good sh**post). I am also aware that all of these signings are unlikely to happen.

Additional Details:
First go at a trade with the senators. Interdivision so its a hard sell on giving them a good goalie for immediate upside for Boston. But the cap space it frees gives Boston more buying power and 2 players that fit Bostons mold.

Think the goalie trade with Ottawa would have made more sense before they signed Korpisalo. Don’t think Sens would do it now for that reason.

Fair point, how is the sens prospect pool for goaltending? ill throw another post up with a more likely ullmark trade later.

Well, that's an easy no for Ottawa

Is Ullmark really worth that much? A top-10 pick and a late 1st that is

They wouldn't be trading Greig anyway. Dorion said so when they were after Chychrun

The only thing I trust Dorion for is amateur scouting. Greig is a guy they drafted a developed. They know how good he'll be

He's still a Top-50 NHL prospect, he was even as high as 18th on Button's list last year

No chance I'd trade him for a goalie. Actually, there's not that many guys I'd trade him for (age and contracts taken in consideration of course)

Not spectacular but good enough. Considering they have Korpisalo and Forsberg who are both still young, they have zero need for any goalie

Sogaard needs more time but he could be a Pekka Rinne type. Merilainen is a pretty decent goalie prospect too. Mandolese is underrated and could end up playing in the NHL too. Reidler was just drafted

With Ottawa just signing Joonas Korpisalo to a 5 year deal, I'm pretty sure they don't need Linus Ullmark. And i doubt either Hanifin or Lindholm make it to free agency. So you'll need to make a deal with Calgary for them.

Tough to say who’s going to need a goalie by next season and whether Ullmark would want to go to a Canadian team. I also don’t think Swayman and DeBrusk will get that much if they don’t have stellar seasons. Swayman would have to take over the number one spot and DeBrusk would have to exceed his goal/assist numbers from last year which may be tough without Bergeron. Hanafin may take a little less to be in Boston but Lindholms number seems close as of right now.

Thanks for understanding the purpose of the post.... I am well aware that they likely dont make it to free agency. But there are alot of players looking to test the upcoming free agent market. They are likely not resigning with Calgary and even if they are pieced off at the trade deadline this season to other teams their is no guarantee that those teams have the means in to lock either of them up before the 24/25 offseason.

It’s not terrible to be honest. Sogaard looks pretty solid but I’m actually higher on Merilainen than most, had a terrific year in Liiga last year and a late birthday so still pretty young. Could be something there

Ohh 100% not trading Greig or even Pinto for that matter! Just was more so saying we don’t really have a need for Ullmark at this point but a trade for him earlier in the offseason before signing Korpi could have made sense!
