I find the picks unnecessary in the SJS/VAN trade.

If Mike Grier was doing this trade, he would do Will Smith for Myers though.

Myers is a star. he's get you at least Eklund, smith and a unprotected 1st

Pearson is now healthy and will be ready for training camp. Unless he suddenly develops an allergy to his equipment or something, he will count against the cap and that would put this team over by about $2M.

If the leafs are moving on from a top 4 DFD they would be using that space they clear up for another top 4 DFD
