Description

It is so exiting to see how Dubas was able to pull off a Karlsson trade without having to give up too much in return. Here's hoping it plays out for all parties involved.

I still feel as though the Pens aren't done making trades and if Dubas was able to make a trade involving essentially 4 "cap dumps" (I don't necessarily consider DeSmith and or Ruuta as cap dumps but they weren't helping the Pens roster with their current cap hits) to bring back Karlsson and actually make out with additional cap what is to say he can't do the same with Carter.

Now, it will be far more difficult to maneuver a trade where Carter is off the Pens roster though if anyone likes to facilitate complicated trades it's Dubas.

If there's any team that really doesn't want Jeff Carter, it's the team that he told to go f*** themselves. Add all you want to a trade, but f*** Jeff Carter, find someone else to launch him to.

I mean it could be any team willing to eat up over $4, mil in cap this year and a little over $3 mil the next. (as somebody would look to take on Dreidger's contact)

I had thought of either CBJ, CHU or ANA as the facilitator for the trade but saw CBJ a better fit given that both the Ducks and Hawks will want their retention slots whenever they decide to sell closer at the deadline.

Jackets are in a pretty comfy cap situation at the moment. They've got a lot of potential ELC bonuses to pay and a lot of RFAs expiring going into next year. Doubt they'd want to handicap their position right now with a bunch of dead cap for some mid picks when they already have such a good prospect pool.
