So Dallas has magic cap dust to just help Toronto out of their cap hell 😅. So, other teams cap situation and team needs mean nothing as long as they are helping the laffs🙄. Robertson right now is next to worthless, Brodie is too expensive.

Robertson is still very young and proved himself a lot last season as an nhl worthy player. TJ Brodie would automatically give Dallas one of the best Defence cores in the league for next season. Dallas would have to be utterly stupid to not accept this deal.

Don’t act like TJ Brodie wouldn’t be on the first pair with Heiskenen. Getting 20+ minutes a night.

Well of course he would. Brodie is a definite upgrade over Suter.

they’re in the market for petry and pesce so clearly they’re willing to spend 4-5m on a defensive upgrade

-Awful trade for the Islanders. There's no one in the system to backfill a Pelech trade, first off (their LHD depth chart behind him is Romanov-Aho-Bolduc-Salo) so this is creating an enormous hole in the defense to address their scoring issues. Throwing in a perfectly good (if slightly overpaid) 3C in Pageau AND a 1st rounder is just really killing the current and future depth of the team for one player who will almost definitely put up worse numbers in New York when he's all of a sudden the #1 scoring threat on a team and not the second line winger playing against teams that are gameplanning for Matthews & Marner ahead of him.

-Dallas can't take this type of cap without sending cap back - they're basically dollar-in, dollar-out at this point of the offseason. Toronto would probably have to take back Radek Faksa's deal and retain some on Brodie's expiring contract for this type of deal to have any sort of shot of happening.

Yet you haven't shown how they can do it. Making a trade that requires more trades is moronic unless they're already set up ahead of time.
Brodie at 33 isn't a guy you go out and get and figure out everything else later.

fair on the islanders part, lets say forget jpg and the 1st then what's the value like? i figured dobson/pulock had higher value than pelech but would the isles move one of those guys for willy instead? provided nylander signs the extension of course

Robertson is utterly injury prone and pretty worthless until he can show he can stay healthy.yeah if Brodie is so great keep him he's decent but thinking he makes a team's d-corp the "best in the league is Laffs fans homer idiocy. If he's that great keep him. Again no one debating me has explained how the F*** Dallas fits him under the cap!!!!! Making a trade that puts you in a position everyone knows you have to make more moves is Dumber than Dogs***. Once everyone knows you have to make a move Your return diminishes drastically so yeah this is Brilliant!!!!!!! NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
