Habs pass

Not wasting a rentention slot on evans since he's already has good value and the team could get a better return than just moving up 15-20 spots for evans and a retention slot

Retention slots should be kept for: petry, dvorak or monahan tomaximise their return

Holy overpay batman!

These are both ridiculous, neither make sense for Edmonton. Why waste assets if you aren't making the team better?

Brett Pesce makes the team way better. He’d be almost an Ekholm level addition. Hence why I paid a bit less with only one year left on the deal and Ekholm had 3 and is a bit better. Evans is a big upgrade on Pedersen and you’d be getting him for two seasons with retention which raises the acquisition cost a lot

Pesce is nowhere near Ekholm level, that's crazy. And his 5v5 defensive Rels aren't any better than Ceci's despite slightly easier deployment. 1 year v 3 makes a HUGE difference too.

Evans is certainly an upgrade on Pederson but he's not worth a 1st even with money retained. He's a 27-year-old 4th liner with mediocre defensive metrics and zero scoring ability
